Due to the heat there will be NO OUTDOOR activities at the Primary Campus Wednesday, August 23 and Thursday, August 24. This includes recess and gym. All activities will be done inside. See everyone soon!

Our NWILCS teachers were preparing for our scholars to return to school next week Wednesday, August 9th through professional development led by multiple district leaders!
We just wanted to go over a few items in regard to acceptable and unacceptable uniforms for the upcoming 23-24 school year. The policy is as follows:
Tops: NWILCS Navy Polo top available at Twin City Uniforms (1101 W Chicago Ave, EC, IN 46312 (This is a large yellow building) and/or Brandy's This Is It (5306 W 25th Ave, Gary, IN 46406) (No plain navy polo shirts or either of the old Lighthouse Academies polos)
Bottoms: Navy or Khaki pants (NO black pants, leggings, or sweatpants)
Shoes: Closed toed shoes (No crocs, flips flops, slides, open toed shoes, slippers, house shoes)

As a part of our commitment to safety and our efforts to make sure that ALL staff at ALL campuses are trained and ready to assist in an emergency situation; we had multiple training days for CPR & AED Training to accommodate everyone. On both July 13 and July 20, 2023 , staff from all campuses and the district of NWILCS came together for this training at LCPC. Please see some of the pictures that we took of this training.
Just a reminder that Orientation and Bus Registration are next week. You must attend orientation to sign up for the bus. See everyone next week!
GLCS Primary Campus will be hosting our Kindergarten Round up from July 10, 2023 - July 14, 2023. Parents will need to bring their child/children, driver license/state ID, immunization record, proof of Residency and Birth Certificate.

Please note: you must attend orientation to get bussing. Busses will be first come, first served.
All parents and children will go through our new security machine as part of our enhanced security measures.
Tomorrow, Friday, June 2, we would like to welcome you to join us for our End of the Year Awards Ceremonies!
1st Grade will begin PROMPTLY at 9:00am
2nd Grade will begin PROMPTLY at 1:15pm
3rd Grade will begin PROMPTLY at 10:45am
***Scholars are welcome to "dress up" for awards***
Seating will be limited, you are welcome to bring a chair if you'd like!
This is a reminder that Kindergarten Promotion Ceremonies will be held TOMORROW, Thursday, June 1
Ms. Stitt's Class will begin PROMPTLY at 9:00am; scholars should arrive no later than 8:45am
Ms. Caruther's Class will begin PROMPTLY at 9:45am; scholars should arrive no later than 9:30am
Ms. Sanchez's Class will begin PROMPTLY at 10:30am; scholars should arrive no later than 10:15am
Scholars should arrive dressed in their "Sunday Best". Seating in limited; You may bring your own chair if you'd like.
Gary Lighthouse Charter School Primary Campus has began it's 2023/2024 Open Registration. Returning parents can go to the Powerschool Parent Portal and Register.
New Parents may go to our website: NWILCS.ORG and register.
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am - 1pm during the month of May our Parent Room will be available for any parents needing support.

These are just a couple of friendly reminders:
ALL permission trips MUST be turned in by tomorrow, April 25, 2023 in regards to the Princess and the Frog. If a scholar does NOT have a signed permission slip turned in, they will NOT be allowed to attend.
Parents/Guardian, this is an ALL school field trip.
Also, Tuesday, April 25 is our Family Picture event. Norman Turner Photography will be at the school from 5:00-6:30 to take family pictures. Picture prices were sent home last week and more will be available the night of the event.

Just a friendly reminder that ALL scholars will be dismissed promptly at 12:30 p.m. today, April 12, 2023. Parents please make sure that appropriate arrangements has been made for your child/children to be picked up timely as the office will be closing at 12:30 pm as well for professional development.

This is a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12 will be a half day of school at all campuses. The College Prep Campus will release at 11:30am while all other campuses (Primary, Upper & EC) will release at 12:30pm. Please pick your child up promptly at dismissal.
This is a reminder that NWILCS will have an Asynchronous E-learning day for scholars on Thursday, April 6. We will also be holding Parent-Teacher Conferences that day at all campuses from 9am-6pm. Please check in with your campus's office for specific lunch times and breaks. If you have any additional questions regarding e-learning or PTCs, please contact your school's office. We look forward to seeing everyone at PTCs!
