What is Title IX?

Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Enacted as part of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title IX is designed to ensure that no one is denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under, any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

Our Commitment

Our school district is deeply committed to creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and equitable environment for all students and staff. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, work, and succeed without fear of discrimination or harassment. We adhere to the principles of Title IX and take proactive steps to prevent and address any form of sex-based discrimination.

Reporting Title IX Violations

If you believe you or someone you know has been subjected to discrimination or harassment based on sex, please report it immediately. Our school district has designated Title IX Coordinators who are responsible for handling such complaints and ensuring compliance with Title IX regulations.

Title IX Grievance Procedures

Our district has established grievance procedures to ensure that complaints are addressed promptly and fairly. These procedures are designed to provide a prompt and equitable resolution to Title IX complaints.

Complaints can be filed with the Title IX Coordinator in person, by mail, by telephone, or by email.

Second Step in the Grievance Procedures is to investigate.

Upon receiving a complaint, the Title IX Coordinator will conduct a thorough investigation, which may include interviews with the complainant, the respondent, and witnesses, as well as a review of relevant documents.

Third Step in the Grieving Procedures is to resolve.

Following the investigation, the Title IX Coordinator will determine whether a violation has occurred and, if so, will take appropriate action to address the issue and prevent its recurrence.

Education and Training

To promote a safe and inclusive environment, we provide ongoing education and training for students, staff, and faculty on topics related to Title IX, including awareness, prevention, and response to sexual harassment and discrimination.
